Exploring the Diversity of our Community through Nature, The Arts and Agriculture
This summer we will take advantage of what our local communities have to offer by exploring natural areas, agriculture and the arts. Summer Term classes will take place on Tuesdays but there are other opportunities in addition to Tuesday events. On Tuesdays, we will continue to have a morning and afternoon session unless otherwise noted.* Morning session meets: 10:30-12:00; afternoon session meets 1:00-2:30. The Summer Term begins on Tuesday, June 8th In case of inclement weather, we will meet at Lincoln Street for some educational rainy day activities (see below).

Thursdays: 2:15-3:00 Meet at the start of the Springfield Walking Path in the parking lot next to the Industrial Center.
Thursdays: 1:00-2:00 Joyous Singing Club-Myrtle’s Singing Club will continue to practice to get ready for a summer performance!

Learn about wild plants you can eat and learn how to cook on an open fire!
Cost: $2.00 per person State Park day use fee

10:30-11:30 Join Ethel on this walking tour of Windsor and learn about this historical town! Meet at the Windsor Diner.
Tuesday July 13 Ice Cream Making Tour

Learn first-hand how Walpole Creamery makes their delicious ice cream
and then sample some!
Directions: I-91 South to Exit 6. Route 5 South to Bellows Falls. Bear left onto Bridge Street, then right onto Route 12 crossing over the Connecticut River. Go approximately 2 miles south on Route 12. The creamery is on the left.
Cost: Bring money for ice cream

Tuesday August 17 Canoe or Kayak with Vermont Adaptive Ski & Sports
10:30-2:30 Stoughton Pond (access from the boat ramp in Crown Point Campground)
Learn how to kayak or canoe with professional instruction! Sign up by July 31st. Must complete Vermont Adaptive Client Profile and Waiver (forms available at LSI).
Some kayaks or canoes will be available after the lesson for use.
Cost: $15.00 per person for half hour instruction.
Note: for participants who do not wish to try canoeing/kayaking, bring a picnic lunch and enjoy some fun and games at the Stoughton Pond Shelter
